SODALITE

Collection: SODALITE

Sodalite is a rich royal-blue mineral often streaked with white calcite veins, sometimes showing gray or greenish tones. It forms in igneous rocks that are low in silica, such as nepheline syenites, where sodium- and aluminum-rich environments allow its crystals to develop over long cooling periods. Historically, sodalite has been used mainly as a decorative stone and in jewelry, with notable use in architectural decoration—especially in Canada, where large deposits were discovered and used in ornamental stonework due to its deep, uniform blue color.
