Unakite is a mottled ornamental rock composed mainly of pink feldspar, green epidote, and quartz. It forms through the alteration of granite in metamorphic environments, where hydrothermal processes replace and combine minerals over long geological periods, creating its distinctive blended pink-and-green appearance. Historically, unakite has been used mostly in decorative carvings, jewelry, and polished stone objects rather than for industrial purposes, valued for its earthy color contrast and natural, speckled texture.
