SHUNGITE
Shungite is a black, carbon-rich mineraloid composed largely of amorphous carbon, with traces of silicate minerals and fullerenes in some varieties. It forms in very old Precambrian sedimentary deposits, believed to originate from ancient organic material that was transformed under heat and pressure over billions of years. Historically, it has been found mainly in the Karelia region of Russia, where it has been used for water filtration, construction materials, and decorative objects due to its deep black appearance and dense structure.
